Patricia Ann McKay, 85

Patricia Ann McKay, 85, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021. She was born on July 4, 1935 to Frank and Mickey Bird in Deland, Florida.

She went to Mt. St. Mary’s High School, and to St. Ann College of Nursing in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Patricia was an RN for sixty years, and the last twenty years she owned Arkansas Academy of Nursing Asst. She loved laughing, and lived everyday like it was her last. Patricia loved her students and an occasional slot machine.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Mickey Bird; husband James McKay Sr.; and son Harry McKay.

She will be missed by her four children Jody Harwood of Arizona, James “Bubba” McKay of Arkansas, John McKay of Arkansas, and Melissa “Mimi” McKay of Arkansas; daughter in laws Nancy McKay of Arkansas, and Mary McKay of Arkansas; grandchildren Christina Detloff, Brad McKay, David McKay, and Morgan McKay; and sisters Rosemary and William Burks, and Jeannie and John Price.

Visitation will be held at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 1:00 PM followed by graveside service at Meadow Brook Cemetery in Beebe at 3:00 PM.

    Words cannot express the condolences and love and prayers sending your way. Ms. Pat was such a character and blessing. She was an amazing teacher. I’m so grateful to her for helping me become the CNA I am today. Praying for her family and so many lives she’s touched.
