Ethel Jean Hiser, 96, passed away January 20, 2021. She was born February 5, 1924 in Van Buren, Arkansas to Acie Prater and Laurinda Cannefax-Prater.
Jean grew up in Rogers, Arkansas. She loved dancing, singing, and playing the piano. She attended Rogers High School where she wrote the music and words to her graduation song.

Jean and Dan never had any children together, but they had hundreds of adopted children who lovingly call her Mama Jean. Her children watch after her, visit her and include her in their family.

One of the sweetest ladies on God’s earth! I love you, Aunt Jean. May you rest in peace.
Aunt Jean had one of the most giving hearts that we have ever known. She found the good in everyone, and everyone responded to her love. We were blessed to have had her in our lives and look forward to seeing her again.
Momma Jean will be missed! She loved God,her husband, ministry, family, friends, and especially her sons at Tucker Max!
On behalf of all the Brooks’ ladies – Jessica, Jennifer, Jordan, Jill & Beckie – we loved Dan and Mama Jean. We know they are together and we will see them again.
Such a special lady with so much love to share. She is greatly missed.
I have missed getting to see you through the quarantine but look forward to singing with you and the angel choir someday. Momma Jean.
Mama Jean was SPECIAL to all who knew and loved her. She was a light in many peoples lives. She will be missed.
I was called last night by my sister Betsy Watson, who informed me that our last aunt, Ethel Jean Hiser, had died. Again, our family has lost a member. One that was loving, caring, firm and supportive. A member who shared the Love of Jesus Christ to everyone who she came in contact with. Now “Aunt Jean” is at peace and I suspect is already walking in Heaven with her husband Dan, enjoying an everlasting life. Absent from the body – present with the Almighty God – may Ethel Jean Hiser be blessed by Her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.
Jeannie was a dear friend and sweet lady. We worked together at Barksdale Air Force Base in 1970 and remained close friends. We always enjoyed seeing her and spending time together. She never passed up a chance to tell us about her Lord and Savior. God has taken home a beautiful Angel. Karen and I will miss her.
Jeannie, you were a fantastic role model for a young nieve Airman and always showed great kindness and although I last saw you in 1976, II always had wonderful memories of you. Godspeed and May he Bless you in eternity.
I shall always remember Jeannie for her love of the military and her faith.
I first met “auntie Jeannie” in1970 when my late husband, Keith, her English son, took me to stay with her in Shreveport.
Keith’s family had met Jean when she was living as a young military wife in the flat below them in the boathouse in Maidenhead UK.
Keith’s mother Freda, also a military wife took her under her wing and introduced her to the English way of life. They remained firm friends.
Over the years Jean would visit us in the UK when she was leading tours and later on in Florida and we would visit her in the USA and when our sons were born they too joined her international band of “adopted children”.
Later on we got to meet Dan and spent time with them both.
Jean was always so full of life. She cared greatly for the welfare of her fellow beings.
She will be remembered with love and affection by the surviving Crowleys, Jaga and David.
