Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Delois Jean Bynum, age 71

Delois Jean Bynum, age 71 of Mt Vernon, Arkansas, born July 5, 1949 in Checotah, Oklahoma, gained her angel wings February 9, 2021 from Covid19 related complications.

Delois was a beloved wife, mother, granny, great-granny, sister, and aunt. She was proceeded in death by two babies who died in utero, parents Walter and Flora Brinsfield, brother Kenneth Brinsfield, sister Edith Eby, son-in-law Jimmy Wright Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Jesse, brothers Dale (Mary) and, Hurshel (Debi) Brinsfield, brother-in-law Richard Eby, children Anita Wright, Adam (Deanna), Brian (Dena), Darrell (Nicole), and George (Diana Turnbo, girlfriend), 21 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Delois was a homemaker until her three oldest children were in school, then she worked in a factory, as a cook and then later as a Certified Dietary Manager in nursing homes, a school cafeteria, a hospital, and then finally as a cashier in the Revenue Department for the State of Arkansas before she  finally retired in 2015 to be home with her husband, Jess who had already retired.

Delois loved to read and crochet. You knew you were “officially” part of the family when “granny” crocheted a blanket for you. Delois also liked old country music and hymns. Jess used to pick the guitar and Delois would sing. Delois gave the BEST hugs. When she hugged you, you felt safe and loved. Delois was a beautiful lady inside and out. She was loved by nearly everyone who knew her and this world is a worse place with her gone. Heaven has truly gained an angel.

A family hosted memorial service will be performed by Brother Frank Fason, Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 1:00pm at Faith Baptist Fellowship,  828 Hwy 36, Naylor, AR 72173

Cremation arrangements are under the trusted direction of A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076. 501-982-3400.
