I will never get over this. He was more than a close friend. He was more than a brother to me. He was like a moral compass for me. I know some will find that difficult to believe., but many will not. He always wanted to stand on the side of right and modeled what a good man should be for his sons, especially Brody since he still lived with him. He was never afraid to say how he felt to anyone about anything. He had a way of seeing what people liked about themselves and then magnifying that quality.
I miss him daily and I can barely step outside as every time I do, I see his home. The last words we had were “I love you.” He made sure those around him knew how he felt about them. I am grateful to have had him in my life.
