Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

John Milner Young, age 93

John Milner Young, 93, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away March 26, 2021. He was born in Newport, Arkansas on October 21, 1927.

John is preceded in death by his parents John Robert and Maude (Neal) Young and 7 siblings.

He is survived by his closest nephew Jim Young; his best friend of many years Bob Rogers; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

John retired from LSU after 25 years working as an offset printer. He had a passion for LSU football that was only second to his love for his church and his family and spending as much time with them as he could. John was a funny, outspoken, and big hearted guy that was a friend to anyone. If you were his friend then you were his family. He was extremely loved and was highly respected by his church family.  He will be missed by all that knew him.

Bob would like to thank  Lakendra and Hospice Home Care for the loving care they provided to John.

In light of the current health concerns, John’s family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers. Due to covid a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Open Door Community Church at 709 W. Lee St. Sherwood, AR. 72120.

Services are under the trusted direction of A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076. 501-982-3400.

Precious John Henry! Oh, how you will be missed! When I get to Heaven I’ll give you a BIG hug and you’ll give me that sweet kiss on the cheek! And, then we’ll sing, “Love Lifted Me” for Jesus and stand on our tippy toes every time we sing the word “lifted” and enjoy Jesus laughing at and with us! Oh, dear beautiful soul, I love you and there’s not a dang thang you can do about it! Love, Tammy

John is my wife’s (Robin Kay Robinson Hagen) uncle. We were wanting a chance to come down so she could see him and I could meet him. Covid stopped that when caused all of the hinderances it did to travel and such. We are sorry to see his departing but to be absent in the tabernacle is to be present with the Lord. We look forward to seeing him. May God bless.

It was always a great Sunday walking into that Purple Room and seeing John sitting there. He was a welcoming sign. The pandemic kept us apart but the thoughts were like hugs! We won’t see him but his spirit will be with us! We shall meet again!

I am blessed to have known John Henry. He had the cutest smile and would always have me laughing. I thought about John Henry last week. I didn’t know God was preparing him for his transition. Enjoy your new body John Henry and rest in the arms of the Heavenly father. Love you always!

John was a dear friend with a big heart. Those who knew him were not immune to his biting wit, but he was a big teddy bear at heart. I am blessed to have known John.
