Tommy Lawrence Talbert, age 70

Tommy Lawrence Talbert, age 70, passed this life into the arms of Jesus on March 23, 2021. Tommy is the son of Royce Q. Talbert and Olga Susan Greer Talbert. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda Kay Talbert and a brother Jack Talbert.

Tommy married the love of his life Sara Lynn Gilbert Talbert. The couple dated for 4 years before marrying and enjoyed more than fifty years of marriage.

Prior to marriage, Tommy proudly served 6 years in the U.S. Army attaining the rank of Spc. 5. He is a Viet Nam veteran. With the exception of his military service, Tommy was a life long resident of Cabot, Arkansas.

Tommy was an automatic transmission rebuilder in North Little Rock for 37 years. After he became ill, he would rebuild antique fishing reels a past time he loved. Tommy was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church and served faithfully until his ill health took away that ability. He loved working in the kitchen and being a greeter.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Larry Talbert (Amy); grandchildren, Ryan Talbert, Eric Talbert, Dustin Gann and Pamela Nicole Lowery; brother, Jimmy Talbert (Joy); a special friend he considered a brother, Lyndel Dean; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Tommy’s Memorial Service will be held at Old Austin Cemetery on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 10:00am.

    I’m so sorry for your loss. But I know Tommy will be enjoying all that heaven has to offer with his new glorified body and eyes. And I’ll admit I can’t wait to get to heaven, because I know Tommy will be there waiting to greet everyone. Hopefully he’ll have a peppermint stick and a hug waiting for me cause I can’t imagine heaven being perfect without him doing what he loved. Love y’all, Sherry Beth
