Jackie Cooper, age 64, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2021 at John McClellan VA Hospital in Little Rock, AR. Jackie graduated from Newport High School in 1975, and later served in the United States Army.
Jackie was a friend to many, leader, mentor, and respected in the community. He was also one of those people, that people wanted to hear what he had to say. He was a member of the Greater Morning Star Baptist Church in Newport, Arkansas.
Jackie was preceded in death by his parents; Henry Cooper JR. and Rosa Lee Eslinger, and his sister; Brigitte Bass-Cooper. Jackie is survived by his special friend; Alice Johnson of Benton, AR, brothers; Charles (Jackie) Cooper of Las Vegas, NV, and Marques Cooper of Little Rock, AR. Sisters; Gloria (Amos) Thompson of Diaz, AR, Henrietta Abshire of Louisville, KY, Jean (Samuel) Dean of Newport, AR, Barsha (Samuel) Porter of Tuckerman, AR, Pamela (Billy) Matthews of Little Rock, AR, Deborah (Leveren) Tillman of Jesup, GA, and Donna Cooper of Jacksonville, AR, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 W. Main Street, Jacksonville, AR 72076, on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 10:00 AM.
