Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Rosemarie Gower Kelley Downey, 63

Rosemarie Gower Kelley Downey born February 27, 1958 of North Little Rock, Arkansas was a 63 year old loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt. She passed away quietly in her home on May 23, 2021.

Rosie was preceded in death by both of her parents Heman and Hazel Gower of Tennessee.

Rosie is survived by her husband, the love of her life since March 9, 1995, Robert Downey Jr, her two sons Horace Dale and Justin Kelley. She is also survived by her siblings, Terry and PJ Gower of Illinois, Eddie Gower of Tennessee, Donna and Tom Ladd of Tennessee, Debbie Moore of Tennessee, and Wayne and Amy Gower of Arkansas. Rosie, always a kid at heart, also leaves behind memories for her surviving nieces, nephews, and their children.

Rosie was like her mother in that she never met a stranger. She loved to talk and share her stories of struggle and survival to anyone that would listen. Diagnosed with kidney failure as a young girl and her struggles later in life with heart conditions, she wanted to let people know that she was a fighter and if she could be a survivor they could too. She was a 44 year kidney transplant survivor, thanks to the generosity of her eldest sister, Donna. Rosie had first hand appreciation and gratitude to organ donors. Rosie was proud of the volunteer work that she did for ARORA. Please make any memorial donations in the name of Rosie Kelley to ARORA.

Rosie will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was the ear for so many to whisper to, a shoulder to cry on, or a support to lean on. She will be a guardian angel for so many, joining her mother and father up above to watch over her family.

The family will be holding a private memorial for Rosie at a later date to celebrate her love in life that she shared with everyone.

I am so sorry for the family’s loss. RoRo, as I knew her, was the best aunt ever to my sweet Michaela (Blaze’s wife). She contacted me several times just to check on “the kids”. They love her so much. I am glad I got to know her. -Melissa Davis
