Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

James William “Butch” Boyette Jr., age 52

James William “Butch” Boyette Jr., 52, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away on June 12, 2021. He was born on August 19, 1968 in Morrilton, Arkansas.

Butch began his lifelong love of hot rods when he was 16 years old and his dad gave him a 1948 Studebaker truck as a project for him to work on. The Stude, as he called it, was his life’s work. He entered and won in numerous car shows across the country and was featured in several magazines, including Goodguys and Classic Trucks. Butch graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1986. When he wasn’t working you could usually find him at his shop with his best friend Rodney working on old cars making them beautiful again. He traveled often to Shreveport to visit his mother Beverly, and was the light of her life.

He was quite the pool shark and won many prizes in tournaments over the years. He loved playing the guitar and listening to music. He worked at Wal-Mart in Jacksonville for more than 30 years.

Butch is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Oda and Donnie Boyette, maternal grandparents Clyde Aggers, Joyce & Clarence Herman Bull; Uncles John Boyette, Donald (Shirley) Boyette.

I am so sorry to lose Butch. He would stop by my shop two or three times a month. We had some great conversations, sometimes well beyond doing closing time. I followed him on Facebook and always “liked” his posts and pics, some of which he would have to explain later. Butch was my friend and I will remember him always. Rest in peace, Butch. Hope to see you one day.

This man is the love of my life, there is a void in my heart and life. He has been taken from me, from us all way too soon. The joy and happiness we brought to each others lives can not be defined with mere words. Butch Boyette was one of the most beautiful, genuine people I have ever met. The time we spent together will always hold the most special place in my heart.
