Alma Jean (Anderson) Poye, of Hot Springs, Arkansas was born March 27, 1934 in Glendale, Arkansas the daughter of the late Thomas Luther Anderson and Carolyn Eugenia (Woodrum) Anderson. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved quilting in the Pine Bluff Quilters Guild and had many awards for her efforts. Jean made quilts for every child, grandchild and great grandchild for them to cherish and enjoy.
Mrs. Poye passed Friday June 19, 2020 at the age of 86 while receiving end of life care from the incredibly compassionate staff of the Hot Springs Arkansas Hospice Inpatient Unit.
Alma was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Poye Jr.; Daughter Sharon Carruth; Two sons Joe Thomas, and Scott Allan.
Survivors, include her sister, Wanda Cardin(Bob) of Sheridan; Sons, Derrel Wayne Poye (Cheryl) of Rockledge Florida; and Michael Ray Poye of Hot Springs; Son-n-Law Ralph Carruth of Huntsville Alabama; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A private memorial will be held for the family in July.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs Alma Poye’s name can be made directly to the Arkansas Hospice Foundation, 14 Parkstone, NLR AR 72116.

I have many wonderful memories of spending time with her. She was a very special person!
My mother-in-law was always so loving and kind to me. I have so many fond memories, my mind doesn’t know where to begin but they will always be with me.

Mrs. Poye was a dear and classy lady. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren so much. She was a strong influence on my life.
