Betty Lou Bratton Thorn, our loving Mother went home on July 10, 2020. She was affectionately known as Nanny. She never met a stranger and her love for her family was endless. No matter what troubles life threw at you, you always knew Nanny was on your side. She was born to the late William and Mary Rice Harris in West Ridge, Arkansas, on September 9, 1947. She was a member of the Jacksonville First Assembly of God.
She personified the Bible verse, Proverbs 31:28 “Her children shall rise up, and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her.” Nanny left us to join her loving husband, Gordon Thorn in Heaven. Gordon (Poppa G) and Nanny met late in life and married and to see them together was to experience the love of soul mates. They absolutely adored one another and had the opportunity to travel extensively. They left us to travel together forever, and have set sail on their final adventure.
She is also preceded in death by her two brothers Billy Joe Harris and Randall Harris; her brother-in-law Bill Burns.
Nanny leaves behind her loving and devoted children Jerry Bratton (Naomi), Wendy Waters (Tim), Gene Mayfield (Christine), Michael Thorn (Kayla), Jill Gentry (Don), Jenna Crowley, and Kathryn Thorn; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; two siblings Linda Burns and Sharon Larson (Philip); her loving mother-in-law Dorothy Austin
Memorial service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 10:00 at Jacksonville First Assembly of God, 221 North Elm Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas
Arrangements entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076.501-982-3400

Drew and I worked with Betty at AFCU for several years, and she was always so kind of helpful. Fantastic at her job and always willing to help others. She will be missed.
Betty was one of the smartest ladies I have met. I was honored to work with her for years and she always had a smile. God bless all your family and friends in this time of sorrow.
