Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Larry Norman Davis, age 70

Larry Norman Davis, a man filled of faith, hope, and love, met our Father in Heaven on Friday, June 14, 2024, at age 70.  A man with a huge heart filled with love, compassion, kindness, and forgiveness for all, passed away in the presence of his beloved wife, Diana Davis, on their eighth anniversary.  A most loving and devoted couple, their last moments together were sealed with a kiss and their last words to each other were, “I love you.”

Always with a deep and abiding love for his family and dear friends, all of whom he cherished and delighted in, Larry was greatly blessed by the love and affections of his daughter Tonya Cato and son-in-law Duane Cato; his son Jeremy Davis; grandchildren Riley and Hunter Cato, and Jacob, Piper, Wyatt, and Benjamin Davis; great-granddaughter Everleigh Reisma; his sisters Tressie Mitchell, Nan Davis, and Kathy Crank and brother-in-law Terry Crank; his many nieces and nephews who all so dearly loved and adored their “Uncle Bo”; as did his many cousins and other relatives; his in-laws who loved and enjoyed Larry, including his parents-in-law Alexander (“Dino”) and Adelina Toigo, his siblings-in-law Lawrence Toigo, Steven Toigo, and Denise Savage, and niece Brittney Savage; and all his dear and wonderful friends with whom he was so close.

Larry’s passions were many throughout his life, from helping his grandfather on his dairy farm as a boy, playing basketball at Bryant High School, coaching his son Jeremy and so many other young boys over the years at Salem Ballpark, listening to rock music, watching on tv or listening on the radio all the Razorback games, playing golf with his buddies Jimmy Kirkpatrick, Ray Smith, Jim Smith, Dennis Taylor, Dwain Johnson, and others, as well as with his son Jeremy and grandkids, watching his grandkids at their sports games and ballet recitals, fishing with his grandkids at his pond, boating with his wife and in-laws along the Southern California harbors, sunbathing especially on the California beaches with Diana, being the taste-tester for Diana’s new cooking recipes, birdwatching from his back porch and watching the deer and other wildlife go by, just simply spending time with Diana, with family, with friends, and with his dogs, cats, and horses, and watching his grandkids’ delight as he spoiled them every Christmas.

Larry worked as a master electrician, and particularly enjoyed calibration instrumentation, until his retirement, whereafter for a time he enjoyed opportunities to assist his son installing automatic gate controls and troubleshooting problems.  Larry was always a hard worker.  During his childhood, he helped on his parents’ dairy farm caring for cows, clearing rocks and working a tractor in the fields, while also helping his grandfather Jack on his farm.  Larry always took on jobs throughout his school years, looking after horses on a horse farm, and fondly remembered working alongside friends at a Minute Man Hamburgers restaurant.

A brilliant mind and outstanding athlete, Larry excelled in everything he did.

Larry always had a smile and a joke for everyone.  He never complained. He always forgave. He always let his loved ones know he loved them.  He had a generous and giving spirit for all.  Larry knew and loved the Lord.

Larry has been reunited in Heaven with his parents, Norman and Marie Davis, sister Linda Johnson, brother Tom Davis, and special grandfather, Jack Davis.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Lawson Road Church of Christ, 19439 Lawson Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72210, where Larry and Diana were married.  Minister Joel Lewis, who married them, will be officiating.  Visitation begins at 11:00 a.m.  Service will follow at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, Larry’s family would like to honor Larry’s love for all animals and his compassion for strays.  Donations are kindly requested in Larry’s remembrance to Paws and Claws Rescue, a worthy and needy cat rescue from which Larry adopted his cat, Angel.

A love note to my Larry:  You are the love of my life, and you always let me know I am yours.  You always considered me with your every thought and in everything you did, with your every breath.  And you appreciated me and everyone else in your life.  I look forward to the day we reunite in Heaven and we can hold each other again and I can tell you how much I love you, how much I appreciate how safe and special and so loved you made me feel, how much I cherish every moment shared with you, how much I miss your smiles and laughs, and how much I miss being with you, my Larry.  I will always love you, and am proud to be your wife.  Diana
