Barbara Kingan, 83 formerly of Conway and Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016. She was born in Ames, Iowa on January 5, 1933 to Rudy and Hazel Schroeder. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved husband of 55 years, John R. Kingan.
Barbara grew up in Iowa and California, and graduated with her nursing degree from Iowa Methodist School of Nursing in 1954. She was an RN for many years at Baptist Medical Center and Conway Regional Hospital, from which she retired. Barbara was a Christian of the Methodist faith.
She was a devoted wife, mother and an advocate for The March of Dimes. Barbara is survived by her son Robert J. Kingan and wife Sandra, of New Jersey, her daughter Kristi Puckett and husband Mike, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, six grandchildren, Taylor Puckett, Carlee Puckett, Abby Grace Puckett, Rohan Kingan, Arun Kingan and Ravi Kingan.
A family memorial is planned for a later date.
Remembrances for Barbara may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association or The March of Dimes.
