I will very much miss our discussions about Star Trek and Harry Potter. The passion Joe had for the Star Trek models was “fascinating”. He would always light up when talking about them. He and I shared a deep love for all things Trek. I am very sad to hear of his passing. My deepest condolences to his family.
Thank-you for the kind words. Live long and prosper, Bill.
From 1 great cook to another, the moments we shared discussing how to tweak a dish, either my way or you way, was a much needed break from the woes and heavy burdens that we face every day, you were a bright and morning star when i got to work. Will always remember you with a smile.

Joe you will be deeply missed. My heart is sadden, because your are gone. We argued like a sister and a brother. You never gave me the last word, I normally just took it. You were a sweet southern gentleman, I will always adore you. You were in my thoughts all last week, I am sorry I did not slow down to call you. You often told me you would not make it to heaven, but I always reminded you that I was praying for you. So Joe I will see you when I get there. Love your friend forever and always. Dave he love you dearly too, I have heard stories on you, Ginger and Helen
that will bring a life time of joy. It will be hard for you, but remember the good times and stay strong. God will never leave you, nor forsake you. Yeah thou we walk through the valley of the shadows of death we shall not fear, because God is with us. I am going to miss my friend, God knows his heart, and I will see him again.
Thank-you for the kind words, Robin. Joe considered you a great friend. Helen, Ginger, and I miss him like nobody’s business. It’s hard, but I know Joe would want us to go on. His urn is in the corner now and I talk to him all the time.
David, I always enjoyed it when Joe and I chatted. He was such fun and so kind. I still have the balloon he brought this past Valentine’s Day. His favorite topic was you. He especially loved to talk about your trips and the special things he planned for you. Joe, may you rest in peace and rise in glory.
Thank-you so much for the lovely tribute, Kaki. Joe loved doing the balloons. I always wondered if the recipients actually enjoyed getting them or if they were just humoring him. I’m touched to know that you still have the last one he gave you.
You will certainly be missed. Your positive attitude was always on display and enjoyed talking with you about Star Trek as well as many other things. God Bless.
Thank-you for the kind words, James. Joe could talk on end about a great many subjects, but he would totally geek out once he got going on Star Trek. I’m glad you share that memory.
Joe was the consummate professional who was always concerned about others more than himself. He will be missed. Prayers for his precious family, his friends and his many co-workers who knew him at DWS. He made the world a better place because of his genuine pleasant attitude toward others.
Thank-you so much for the kind words, Ron. Renêe’s family and mine truly appreciate the prayers and warm thoughts from all his friends and coworkers.
I’m so happy Clifton and I have had the privilege to call both of your our good friends. I will miss being a Gang of Four going to movies, eating out, or just watching TV. Joe was a solid man I had grown to love and respect. I miss him.
Thank-you so much, Robert. I will never be able to repay you and Clifton for your help with the memorial service and thanks to Clifton for rushing over that awful Friday afternoon when I was falling apart. He kept me focused, and I am eternally grateful.

Prayers of peace and blessings during your time of loss! Joe has always been a joy to be around and fresh perspectives on things. His presence is a great loss to those that knew him. I loved to talk with him about one of his favorite subjects of sharks! His interest and energy was amazing as well as his thoughtfulness of others. Rest in peace my friend!
Thank-you for the kind tribute, Rebecca. Joe had a great fascination for sharks and was always telling me about anytime there was a shark attack. He loved them, (sharks, not the attacks!), and was always eager to talk about them to kindred spirits.
It was a pleasure to work with Joe. He was always cheerful and had a joke to tell. He will be missed.
Joe did indeed have a unique sense of humor. Thank-you for sharing your memories of him, Doss.
My heart goes out to David the dogs, and all the other loved ones that will greatly miss Joe. May you be comforted from happy memories.
Thank-you so much for helping me as much as you did this past week, Kay. I truly appreciate you helping with my time off, my password issues, sending food and that beautiful care package, and for you, Ray, Calvin, Larry, Melinda, Anthony, and Roxanna attending the memorial.
Joe will be missed by everyone who knew him. I enjoyed working with him. Praying for his family and friends. He was so kind and would help you do anything that you needed.
Thank-you so much for the kind words, Jannie. It fills my heart with happiness to see all the lovely tributes from people Joe touched.
Joe and I were neighbors for many years. We shared in the rescue of two wayward pups who happened to find our road. Joe adopted beautiful Frances and I adopted beautiful Sheba. We shared stories and pictures even after Joe moved on and created a new life with his beloved husband, Dave and their “girls”. We enjoyed many holidays and neighborhood get togethers, always a great host, cook, story teller and joker. Joe is by far one of the good ones gone way too soon. I do know there is quite the reunion with family, loved ones, friends and lots of wagging tails – Sheba & Francis leading the way. Rest Well Dear Friend. “OF my friend, I can only say this: OF all the souls I have encountered in my travels, he was the most human.” Dr. Spock.
Thank-you so much for the wonderful tribute, Ruth. Joe considered you a true friend and spoke of you fondly. Ever since we moved back to the area in 2015, Joe regularly said he needed to go visit you in the old neighborhood. I don’t know if he ever did, but I assure you he missed having you as a neighbor.
I’m deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Mr. Joe, it was always a pleasure when we chatted about the dogs. My husband and I will miss those conversations. My condolences to the family and David
Thank-you so much for the kind words, Veronica. Helen and Ginger, our Boston Terriers, were his life and he would talk about them to anyone who would listen. Renêe’s family and mine appreciate the condolences.
Such a shock, and heartbreak! For Joe’s family, please accept my condolences. I met with Joe in Jonesboro just days before his passing. We laughed more in my interview than I think the state actually allows. When Joe found out how much I had on my plate, and that I was feeling scatter-brained he immediately proceeded to tell me brain teaser jokes. He got me, too! I think it truly tickled him as he smiled from ear to ear.
I also had the pleasure of working with Joe in his department during the pandemic; truly a great group of people, and Joe was the rule not an exception.
I’ve lost much of my family, so I know words don’t really help much. Though hearing from those my dad worked with was comforting. Therefore, I hope you are comforted knowing Joe was loved as much at work as he was at home, and in the really tough times, I hope your many, many memories of Joe will bring you peace. Bless you all.
Thank-you so much for the beautiful tribute, Farah. Yes, hearing from those who worked with Joe is bringing me a lot of comfort this lonely Saturday night. I have tears in my eyes yet a big smile on my face knowing my beloved Joe touched so many people. I truly appreciate your memories of Joe.
This has taken me a while. Joe was my brother from another mother. He was there whenever I needed him. His adjectives and adverbs to give a food review still make me laugh. I loved him dearly and he is missed.
Thanks for the kind words, Jane. Joe really liked working with you.
I’m sorry to learn of Joe’s passing. Condolences to his family.
Thank-you, Jaynie. It is hard moving on. We all miss him so much. The house is so quiet without his big presence.
