
Alfred “Ferd” Wayne Johnson, age 76, resident of Jefferson, Arkansas, departed this life Friday morning, May 24, 2024 at Home.
Wayne was born June 11, 1947 in Pitts, Georgia, the son of Gordon Carlyle Johnson and Dorothy Christine Ashcraft. He attended Dollarway Senior High School in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Wayne proudly served his country as a Radioman in the United States Navy. Wayne worked for Union Pacific railroad as an electrician until his retirement. He was an avid duck hunter and Razorback fan.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Brenda “Gail” Johnson; his sons, Matthew Johnson (Emily) of Sardis, MS, Jordan Johnson (Nicki) of Benton, AR, and Jade Adams of Shreveport, LA; his sister, Malinda Johnson Patton Smith of White Hall, AR; two brothers, Jerry Johnson (Nan) of Pine Bluff, AR and Garry Johnson (Beverly) of Yakima, WA; and two grandchildren, Wyatt Johnson and June Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Dorothy Johnson.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Arkansas Heart Hospital or the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation.
There will be a private cremation service set at a later date.

Worked a lotta days with Wayne on RR, after he finished the crossword puzzle in the paper. First things first for Wayne. A friend I will miss, but remember with a smile. GOD Bless the Johnson Family.
