Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Kirt Ray, of Shannon Hills, AR, entered into rest with the Lord on August 16, 2024. Kirt is survived by his wife, Linda Ray, a son, Phillip Ray, a daughter, Rachael Ray Ellis (David), grandchildren, Elijah Ellis (Lynzee), Josiah Ellis, Nehemiah Ellis, and Zohas Ellis, and one great-grandson, Ezekiel Ellis. His oldest brother, Doug Ray (Julie), a sister, Sonja Ray Wright, his sister-in-law, Debra Neal Ray and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by Steve Ray, brother, Sylvia Mann Ray, mother, Theo Mann, grandfather, Maye Reed Mann, grandmother, Arla “A. D.” Ray, grandfather, and Alma Keesee Ray, grandmother.

Kirt served honorably in the United States Air Force and while stationed at Edwards Air Force Base, California, in the Mojave Desert, he met his wife of almost 43 years, Linda. He was blessed to serve as a deacon for over forty years at Guiding Light Baptist Church in Shannon Hills. His greatest joy was serving the Lord through his church and sharing his faith with others. He never met a stranger and easily conversed with anyone willing to stop and visit. He was quick with the “dad” jokes and everyone he met looked like someone else he knew. When spinocerebellar ataxia took away his ability to work and drive, he continued to encourage his brothers and sisters in Christ with calls, texts and emails. When he could no longer communicate, he still wanted to be in God’s house. His continued desire to be with the Lord’s people was an inspiration to others and his presence will be missed.
