
Beverly “Diane” Howard, age 80, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away on October 24, 2025. She was born on April 25, 1944 in Morrilton, Arkansas to Lloyd and Florence Beck.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. noon at Immaculate Conception Church, 7000 John F Kennedy Blvd, North Little Rock, AR 72116. Visit and food to follow.
Diane was “Granny” to her granddaughter and “Gigi” to her great grandchildren. She inspired her family and others by her wisdom and wholesomeness through her words and actions. She wants those values to be continued by her family. She also taught her family the importance of staying close to the Lord.
Diane loved being and seeing people be kind to children of all ages and animals of all kinds. She loved dogs and cats. She cherished wonderful times with her daughter and grandchildren near the ocean in Gulf Shores, Alabama where she briefly lived.
Diane loved pursuing education. She graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1962, and later in life got her bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Writing. She had two poems published in books at the UALR Library. Diane worked at St. Vincent in Little Rock in the medical records department.
Diane taught Sunday school and sang in the choir at church. She received opera lessons from the opera singer Mr. Karuso who was from New York City. She was always singing uplifting Christian songs whether it was around the house or in the car. Her passions included singing, writing poems or music, and creating art. Her imagination brought warmth and laughter to us all. In the year 2026, her art will eventually be displayed.
Diane was a part of many churches over the years including Calvary Baptist Church in Benton, Park Hill Baptist Church in NLR, Church of Jesus Christ in NLR, St. Bartholomew Church in Elberta, AL, and the Immaculate Conception Church in NLR.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Florence Beck; husband Guy Howard III; brother Derel Beck; great uncle Alvin Gatlin (Plattsville); cousin Joyce Gatlin; Leila Benight, Mickey Benight, and Bill Benight.
Diane leaves behind her daughter Michele Howard; granddaughter Tiffany Thompson; great grandchildren Elijah and Paisley Thompson; nephew Wesley Howard, and his children Colton and Joey Howard of Texas; Butler family Jessica, Pete (Cindy), and Lee; Timothy Welch Family of Sherwood; Debbie Felming Gatlin of Prattsville; Max Hollinger of Prattsville; Karen Granthem Healy, Brenda Cody, John and Doug Cody all of Conway; Shirley Mecca; Joe Benight; Zachary Benight; Chris Benight; Tina and Dale Wilson of Irving, TX; and other extended family from Malvern, Little Rock, and Hot Springs.

Michelle I am so sorry for your loss and not being able for come to the funeral service. . I was extremely happy to get get the information on Diane in your obituary I had no idea your mother was so talented I wish I had gotten to know her better growing up but she being older than me and Karen she was always busy with her friends but that was normal. She was always sweet to me and my sister Karen. I feel regret in not getting to know her better but I will have that opportunity in Heaven . May God be with you Michell your Cousin Danny
