
Mearl Dean Hayes, 68, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. He was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, on May 14, 1957, Mearl lived a life marked by service, devotion, and adventure.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Mearl served his country for 24 years, retiring with distinction as a Master Sergeant (MSGT). His commitment to duty was matched only by his love for the open road—his favorite pastime was riding motorcycles alongside his beloved wife, Tami Hayes.
Mearl was preceded in death by his parents Lance and Anna Hayes and brother Robert Hayes. He is survived by his wife of ten years, Tami Hayes. His son and family, Travis Hayes wife Michelle and grandson Lance Hayes.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his loyalty, and the joy he found in simple pleasures shared with those he loved.
A celebration of Mearl’s life will be held on Friday, November 7th at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, AR 72076. The visitation will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a motorcycle-escorted procession led by the Patriot Guard and Combat Veterans to the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 W. Maryland Avenue, North Little Rock, AR 72120.
Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. and conclude at 12:30 p.m. with full military honors.
Mearl’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him, rode beside him, and stood with him in service and in life.
