Daniel Hardy West, 78, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Spring Creek Health and Rehab in Cabot, AR.  A lifelong resident of Arkansas, he is the son of the late Hardy and Jean Maddox West.  He is also preceded in death by his brother, Gary West.  Dan lived a life marked by dedication, service and love for his family.

A veteran of the United States Navy, Dan used his electronic training to pursue a career in the telecommunication field.  He started his career with Southwestern Bell Telephone then AT&T, ultimately starting a private telecommunication company.  He was known by many of his customers as Dan the Phone Man.

Dan will be sorely missed by his sister Kathy Fly (JD); nephew Daniel Hill (Kalliah); grand-nephew Eli Hill; brother Dwight West (Betty); nephews Chris and Michael West; grand-niece Shelby O’Brien (Skylar) and son Torin; sister-in-law Tina West; niece Stephanie Michael (Marty) and grand-nephews Weston and Warner Michael.

A special thanks from the family to cousins John Simmons and Phil Maddox (Lori) for their loving and tireless devotion to Dan over the years.

A family memorial service will be held on June 6, 2026 at Center Point Cemetery.
