Ronald Ray Wood, age 79, of England, Arkansas went to the Father on June 4, 2026 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. He was surrounded by the love and warmth of his friends and family.
Ronnie was born October 10, 1946 in North Little Rock, Arkansas to Allen and Letha Wood, who preceded him in death. He grew up in a home rich with love and values. He graduated from England High School in 1966 and went on to try his hand at driving an ambulance and spent several interesting years working at the England Funeral Home. He farmed with his brother, David, and their father until 1980 when they, together, began to farm until 1985. Before retiring, he worked at Raytheon Aircraft.
A man with a heart of gold, Ronnie was known for his kindness and generosity. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, PawPaw, and friend. He was always ready to lend a hand, offering his support and the shirt off his back to those in need. His love for the Lord was profound, and he was a dedicated member of the County Line Missionary Baptist Church where his presence was a testament to his faith and love for his community.
Ronnie is survived by his devoted wife, Jane Wood, who shared with him a life filled with love and cherished memories. He leaves behind his loving sons, Shane (Kathy) Wood, and Donald (Amanda) Brannen, who will continue to honor his legacy. Ronnie’s spirit lives on in his brother David (Carolyn) Wood, and sisters JoAnne (James) McCoy, and Janet (Dowell) Cartwright, who treasured him dearly. His legacy is further carried on by his nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life and will forever remember their grandfather’s loving smile and gentle spirit.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 10:00am with the funeral service at 11:00am in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville. Dennis Ingle of the County Line Baptist Church will be officiating.

You will surely be missed by many , a man with a heart still being I so much love there are no words to express I wish I could’ve seen you and hug you one last time and that kissed on the cheek. May you rest in peace and keep it close Watch on all of us as we are still here.

Ron was a good man. He worked for me at Nationwide Papers. Great worker. Had many laughs with him. He will be truly missed by everyone that knew him. God needed him.
He was My Friend……….I Loved talking to him when he would stop by the England Revenue Office or come by my house and drop off vegetables. My husband would tell me at times (Your Friend came by looking for you and left you something…. He was a very Kind Gentleman that Loved his wife; Mrs. Jane & his family. Know that his entire Family is in my PRAYERS…Much Love & Respect.

Ronnie was such a kind and loving person! It’s hard to imagine life without him. He was a wonderful cousin and I’ll treasure the memories I have of him.
