Jared Anthony Haslip, 35, of Cabot, Arkansas, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, June 17, at 5:00 p.m., surrounded by his mother and stepfather, Shane. He leaves behind an immeasurable void in the hearts of the family and friends who loved him deeply.
Jared was born on September 20, 1990, in Springfield, Missouri. He was the son of Patricia (“Trish”) Washam and Tony Haslip, and the stepson of Shane Washam.
Jared was a son, brother, cousin, grandson, and friend. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Trish and Shane Washam; his father, Tony Haslip; his sister, Hailey Washam; and his beloved cat, Marsha. He was preceded in death by his brother, Scott Washam, and his grandmother, Diana Haslip.
Growing up, Jared was known for creating both fun and chaos. His family and friends all have “Jared stories” that have been shared and laughed about throughout the years. Jared embraced life to the fullest and loved deeply. Even after his cancer diagnosis, he refused to let the disease define him and continued pursuing adventures such as skydiving, traveling to visit friends, and attending concerts with his buddies.
Jared attended Nixa High School and graduated from Western Governors University in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. Although he did not have the opportunity to use his degree professionally, he was incredibly proud to complete it after receiving his glioblastoma diagnosis in January 2025. Prior to his diagnosis, Jared worked in the IT Department at Dillard’s, where he valued both his work and the relationships he built with his coworkers.
Outside of work, Jared had a deep passion for music. He enjoyed playing guitar, reading, watching movies, playing video games, spending time with family and friends, and, of course, cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs.
Jared accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of five. His family is comforted by the promise of Scripture and the assurance that they will one day see him again in the presence of their Lord and Savior.
Please join the family in celebrating Jared’s life on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 2:00pm at Sunrise Baptist Church; 3550 E. State Highway CC, Ozark, MO 65721.

Found jared on YouTube and followed his journey, he said he felt like a fraud living as long as he did but was anything but that. He showed courage and determination sharing his life and fighting knowing the likely outcome. Hes humbled us that followed him and inspired us to be better people
Jared, I only knew you via your YouTube channel, but it was a joy reading every post and more importantly seeing your positivity and love of life. You were loved and respected by thousands who never met you in person, and you will be missed very much.
I am so sorry to hear about Jared. I found him on YouTube and noticed his postings were slowing down. Oddly enough, on Wednesday, he popped in my head and I tried searching his social media and couldn’t find anything so I assumed he was traveling. Man, what a guy. I’m about to turn 38 and I wish I could be like him. RIP Jared, you touched the hearts of people all over the world.

I’m saddened to hear of Jared’s passing. I followed him on YouTube. I was amazed by his grace, hope and positivity after his diagnosis. For a man who faced a lot of adversity in his young life, he handled it with poise beyond his years. I’m so sorry for your loss. Rest in the arms of Jesus, Jared.
Followed jared on YT and enjoyed watching him.
He adored his cat and seemed to make the most of what he was dealt.
You will be missed young man. I followed your journey on YouTube, prayed for you
Godspeed
I got to know Jared thru YouTube. He helped me understand some things about my cousin who died of this disease. In 2016. Jared was a modern day warrior. Rest in Peace.
I followed Jared’s journey on YouTube! Life is so unfair and really did choose for cancer not to define him. A little upset how cruel life can be. This 35 year old deserved a longer life! Thanks for everything Jared… May you RIP brother you did touch more lives than ya know!
There was never a dull moment at Shakes when Jared and I worked the same shift during high school! From being locked out, to buckets of water being propped above the bathroom door. Ha!
Rest in peace!
Im deeply saddened by the news of Jared’s passing and would like to reach out to his family with my deepest of condolences.
Jared was a great person. He may have had some hurdles along his path but he persevered and achieved what he wanted.
Alongside being a good person he was a great friend. I met Jared online and we had some great times playing games or just having some night chats. Through such moments I gotten to know that he is a very intelligent, funny and loving guy!
I hope he rests in peace and maybe someday ill see him again,
God bless.
Sincere condolences to Jareds family. I didn’t know Jared, but Ive followed his channel since day one. He was wise beyond his 35 years. His humility, resilience and acceptance of his condition were among the qualities that garnered him thousands of online friends. His book reads and car chats are indicative of a deep thinker or polymath, yet he immersed himself in sky diving. Fly high Jared, you are forever in our hearts! I will take your advice of Be Nice to People.
I knew Jared only through YouTube and a few messages shared via the platform. He showed a lot of grace and humility throughout the struggles in life he shared online, and with this illness in particular.
May his memory be eternal, and may the Lord grant him everlasting life in His kingdom.
I as well followed Jared’s partial journey on YT – and was astonished and heart warmed on how he accepted his fate.
I only wish – he was able to go to Pattaya beach – and enjoy it in the physical realm …
However , now he can visit Thailand or anyplace on the spiritual plane. Gods speed and I’m sure ur soak will soar
Fly high young man – Fly high !
You will be missed brother I don’t understand why such a good person and human being was taken at such a young age until I see you again love ya bro
I’m sorry to discover that Jared has lost his battle with this terrible disease, the same one that took my father at a young age. YouTube enable “us” to enter his life and widen his circle of prayers. May your grief be gentle. He was a fighter.
