Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Kathy Ann Derryberry Cooper, 62, of Gravel Ridge, Arkansas, went to her heavenly home on June 24, 2026.

Kathy was born in Jacksonville, Arkansas and was raised in Lonoke County. She was a proud graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, earning her Mechanical Engineering degree in 2013. Kathy was a woman of strong faith and a firm believer in Jesus Christ. She frequently attended Friendly Chapel Church in North Little Rock in the years before her illness and volunteered her time at Breakout Church in Cabot.

One of Kathy’s most treasured experiences was in 2012 when she followed her heart for service and adventure by volunteering aboard The Mercy Ship, traveling abroad and helping others while working on the ship. This experience reflected her generous spirit and willingness to step outside the ordinary.

Kathy was a true country girl at heart. She loved spending time with her family, enjoying the outdoors, being near the ocean, and taking road trips filled with adventure and memories. She had a spontaneous spirit and loved to have fun. Kathy was a dedicated and hardworking person—a true jack of all trades—and she took great pride in her work at Bumper to Bumper, where she was employed for seven years.

Kathy was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Randy Cooper; mother, Peggy Vaughn; stepmother, Gwin Derryberry; and stepbrother, Stanley Clark.

She is survived by her father, Dossie Derryberry of Lonoke, AR; brother, Thomas Derryberry (Barbara) of Singer, TX; stepsister, Cynthia McHargue (James) of Lonoke, AR; daughters, Angela Pugh Curtis (Ray) of Conway, AR, and Elizabeth Cooper Strain of Gravel Ridge, AR; stepsons, Randall Cooper (Amber) and Calvin Cooper of Boyd, TX; grandchildren, Ramon Curtis (Jennifer) of Phoenix, AZ and Ashlei Curtis, Aiden Pugh, Mason Curtis, and Eli Curtis of Conway, AR; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends who were blessed to know her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 25, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Campground Event Center; 3212 Campground Road, Austin, AR 72007.

Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Kathy’s life and the memories she created with those she loved.
