Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Carla Irene Spoon Golden, age 71, from Vilonia, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 19th, 2026. Carla, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, sister, and friend was born August 18th, 1954 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Jack Edwards Spoon and Wilma Marceline Shepherd.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years Ronald Golden, her Sister Sandra Plummer and brother-in-law Johnny Plummer, her son-in-law James Dean Hilzendager, and son-in-law Curtis Dagen.

She is survived by her brothers and sister in-laws James and Helen Jackman, Thomas and Maria Spoon, and Jack and Gail Spoon. She is also survived by her five children, Ronald James Golden, twin daughters Sara Dagen and Tara Golden, son Alex Golden, and son Cody Golden; her grandson and his wife Brian and Chantel Green; her great-granddaughter Aralynn Green, grandson Matthew Saltillo; granddaughter Faith White and great-grandson Phinyx White; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

Carla was a long-time member of New Hope Holiness Fellowship in Conway. She loved to sew, play guitar, cook, and spend time with her family and grandkids. Nobody ever went to her house and left hungry. She was very kind spirited and very patient and loving. She was always positive and giving to others.

The family will be accepting visitors starting at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23rd, 2026 with the funeral starting at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at New Hope Holiness Fellowship, 323 AR 36, Conway, AR 72032. Pastor Victor Persinger II will be officiating. Interment to follow at Cypress Valley Cemetery in Vilonia, Arkansas.

The family would like to thank all of the family, church members and friends who continued to keep in touch with Mom during the time that she was sick. And thank you for all of the kind words of condolences and support. Until we meet her again!

    I am sorry I couldn’t be at the service. Carla was fun to talk to whenever she came in to Waffle House, and having worked with 2 of her sons I can say she did a good job as a mother. She will be missed.
