Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Doreen Rose Merriman-Raupe, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, nanny and friend to many, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026 in Cabot, AR.   Born to parents Walter and Rose Mackett on November 27, 1938 in Battersea, London England. She had two brothers and one sister.  In July of 1958, she met the man who would become her husband, James R Merriman.  They married on May 23, 1959 at St. Mary’s Church in Battersea.  They were married for 40 years, and shared a beautiful love story, and created a family with four children.

Doreen is preceded in death by Walter and Rose Mackett (Dad and Mum), Dennis Mackett (brother), James R Merriman (Husband), Robert Carl Merriman (son) and Kelli Merriman (granddaughter).   She leaves behind her son Robert’s children and grandchildren; Richard Merriman, his family and grandchildren from Beebe, AR; Gary Merriman, his family and grandchildren from Cabot, AR, and Tamara Thul and her family from Tucson, AZ.  She also leaves behind her brother, Walter Mackett and sister, Carol Redman and their families all in England.

Doreen found love again when she met and married Dannie Raupe on April 28, 2008.  Together they traveled the world for 18 years creating even more beautiful memories.  Doreen leaves behind not only her children, but Dan and his daughter Debra and her family.

Doreen was a friend to many.  She was President of the British Wives Club in Jacksonville AR for many years and had British friends all over the country.  She will always be known for her kindness, loyalty as a friend, and a beautiful soul who we are all lucky to have been a part of her life.  She loved to travel and was fortunate to go all over the world.  She loved to lay out in the sun, something she started doing on the sunny summer days on the beach in England with her family.  She was a talented seamstress, gardener and party planner (just a few of her many talents), and she is the one person who brought everyone together.

If you knew Doreen, you were blessed with a person whose love will live with you forever.

We love you Mum.  Rest in sweet eternal peace.
