Bernard Hughes, 65, of Chicago, Illinois passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026. He was born to Roosevelt Hughes and Beatrice Bumpus. For 20 years, he was the beloved husband of Marilyn Hughes leaving him widowed during her passing.

Well-known as a god-fearing man, Bernard found Christ Later in life due to the influence of his wife and children Bernard and his family moved from Chicago to Little Rock, the move put a strain on his family.

Despite this, they remained close.

After the death of his wife, Bernard is well remembered for his actions to remind his children that they were loved by him, despite his position in life. A love no one would ever forget.

Throughout his jobs, travel, and everyday life; Bernard made many friends who will also remember and cherish him. Bernard leaves his memory behind for his children, family, and friends who love him. He is survived by his six children. Sons, Bernard Hughes Jr, and Zachary Hughes, and Edward Hughes; Daughters, Maddlyn Hughes, Marame Hughes, and Coretta Dixon.
