Darren Joseph Cox, 44, was born June 30, 1982, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, and passed away on August 14, 2026, in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Darren will be remembered for his fun-loving personality, quick wit, and natural ability to make people laugh. He loved the outdoors, excelled in sports from a young age, enjoyed cooking, and cherished the companionship of his beloved dog. Those who knew Darren will also remember one of his favorite expressions, “Next,” a simple word that reflected his determination to keep moving forward through whatever life brought his way.

Above all, Darren loved being a father. His son was his greatest source of love and pride, and the time they spent together meant more to him than anything.

Darren is survived by his mother, Donna Cox; stepfather, Jon Thompson; son, Joseph Preston Cox; twin sister, Danina Cox; siblings, Tracy West-Grubb, Danny Joe Cox Jr., and Cody West; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Danny Joe Cox Sr. His family finds comfort in knowing that father and son are now reunited in Heaven, cracking jokes and burning rubber.

 Darren was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

 A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 6:00pm at First Assembly of North Little Rock – Senior Ministry Center located at 4501 Burrow Drive, North Little Rock, AR 72116. Pastor Layne Mason officiating.

Graveside Service will follow on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 11:00am at Chant Lane Cemetery in Boles, AR, where Darren will be laid to rest.
