Reverend Doctor Kenneth John Folmsbee, of Austin, Arkansas, a retired pastor and Christian author, passed away on August 18, 2026 at John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital, Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 76.

Kenneth was born in Binghamton, New York, on May 5. 1950 to Merlin and Dorothy Runyon Folmsbee.

As a child and young man, he enjoyed and excelled in baseball and basketball.  Upon graduating high school in 1968, he passed up the opportunity to play baseball for the Baltimore Orioles to join the Navy where he serve his country honorably in Viet Nam and other deployments until he was medically discharged in 1977.

Upon his discharge, Ken gave his life to Christ and obediently followed the calling to a life of ministry, obediently serving churches in New York, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Florida.

Ken took up the game of Golf during his first years of ministry and found it to be a place and means of witness and ministry. He truly spent his life on earth serving and defending Jesus Christ and Country with all his heart.

Ken leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Patricia (Pat) Folmsbee, his four children: Geoff Folmsbee (Asha), Bradley Folmsbee (Patty), Christopher Folmsbee, and Jeremy Folmsbee (Rachel), his stepchildren Richard Nichols (Sharon), and Jennifer Nichols Gangsky, 18 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

His life on earth was met with many trials both physical and emotional, but his faith, love and devotion to God, his wife and family surpassed all else.

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me;

and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God,

 who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

Well done, good and faithful servant. You are much loved and missed.

Interment Services will be held 10 a.m. on September 8, 2026 at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida.

A Celebration of Life will follow at 11 a.m. at the Scottsmoor Meeting Hall and Community Center, 2724 Magoon Avenue, Mims, Florida 32754.
