Betty Jean Griffin-Bearden-Smith went to be with our Lord on Thursday, August 27, 2026. Betty was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to Jerald Young and Loretta (Shipman) Griffin on September 27, 1936.

She is preceded in death by both parents, Her children’s father: Clarence Samuel Bearden, one sister: Catherine Jones, one son: Terry Bearden, one grandson: Michael Bearden Jr, one granddaughter: Carissa Garrison.

She is survived in death by one brother: Jerry Griffin (Donna) of Alexander, two sons: Glenn (Juanita) Bearden of Mabelvale and Mike (Marsha) Bearden of Benton, one daughter:  Rebecca Berthelson of Bryant. Grandchildren: Kimberly Bearden, Dawn Bearden, Mindy Bearden, Jenny Brown, Leslie Smith, Robert Garrison (Liz), Shawna Garrison, John Scroggins, Terra Garrison, Chris Bearden, Rachel Bearden. Great grandchildren: Xander Banyon, Jacey Smith, Kaylee Smith, Brayden Smith, Alexis Butler, Natalie Garrison, Nathanial Garrison, Caleb Kinzler, Emily Kinzler, Cierra Taylor, Hope Garrison Kinzlee Bearden, Braylee Peel. Great-great grandchildren: Ember Travis, Onyx Province, Nova Garrison, London Martin, Raegan Martin, Riley Martin, Ayden Ocampo, Isiah Bearden, Weston Ibbotson. She is also survived by 3 nieces, a nephew, their spouses and children and their children. She had a large family that she adored.

She worked until the age of retirement doing factory and warehouse work and even in the motel industry.

We will miss you and our hearts are broken.

There will not be a service but a private celebration of life to be determined.
