Our beloved father, Charles Herman Nichols passed away August 28, 2026.  Nick, as he was best known, was born September 15, 1937 in Bigelow, Arkansas to Charles Curtis and Azilee Watson Nichols.

Nick lived a full and eventful life.  He attended Jacksonville High School where he played football and ran track. After graduating he served 2 years in the US Navy until 1957.  From there he went to the Automation Institute in San Francisco to learn computer programming and electronic data processing.  He shared 4 children with Martha Nichols and his greatest joy in life was coaching them and their many friends in softball, football and baseball at Geyer Springs Ballpark. He had countless stories to share from those treasured memories. Later in life, he enjoyed playing in league pool tournaments and made lifelong friends along the way.

Nick is preceded in death by his parents, son Charles H Nichols, Jr, and grandsons Matthew and Blake Lands.

He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his family: sister, Doris (Ernie) Jones; brother, Gary (Katherine) Nichols; daughter, Chris Nichols; daughter, Jami (Bryan) Pfeiffer; son, Drew (Lorri) Nichols and grandsons, Jakob Pfeiffer and Kai Nichols.

A celebration of Nick’s life will be held at Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville on Thursday, September 10th from 11:30am-12:30pm, followed by the burial at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00pm located at 1501 West Maryland Avenue, North Little Rock, AR  72120.
