Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

My sister Beth Martin was my very first friend. She came into the world July 26th, 1984 and I followed almost 3 years later. Our parents actually chose my name (Pam) based on which name Beth could pronounce as a toddler.

We must have been a sight!  Two red-headed girls, often in matching outfits, hair curly from sleeping in foam rollers.

Beth’s dream was to build a family through adoption. She and her ex-husband fostered 47 children over the years and adopted 7. She drove them around in what we called her FBI surveillance van and what she called “Da Beast”. She cooked for her family with a huge skillet, made Halloween costumes, and cut, dyed and permed their hair herself. The walls of her home were decorated with her children’s photos.

Her profession and her passion was portrait photography. She specialized in babies and families. Her seasonal photo sessions were always an event. You never knew what she would plan next. She photographed kids with Santa, baby chicks, lambs, and, once, a cow dressed as a unicorn.

I never knew where Beth got all her energy from. Her projects and ideas were infinite. Her last craft project, dreamed up in an ICU bed, was asking Buck to make her old t-shirts into teddy bears for the kids.

Her farm always needed one more animal and her couch always needed one more dog.

Her dogs Morgan, Fiona, and Penny watched over her at the end of her life, and her beloved dogs Daisy and Bailey – the first pets she had as an adult – were waiting for Beth on the other side.

She met the love of her life, Buck Wisinger, in 2024. He loved her in health and in sickness, at the beach and in the hospital. I will never again be impressed by a man who summits Everest or finishes an Ironman race, because I have seen Buck stay up all night in the ER over and over because he would not leave my sister’s side.

Beth was brought into the world by Rita and Rodger Cameron, both of Warren, Arkansas. She loved her children: Ava, Cameron, Jayce, Jillian, Ty, Caleb, Lexie, and step-daughter Kyleigh Wisinger. Nathen Dempsey and Lenae Lewis will remember her as the foster mom who changed their lives. Melissa, Amanda and Robyn will remember her as their friend.

To me, she will always be my sister. The one who gave me my name.

Beth sang and danced all the way to the end. To honor her zest for life, we will be throwing a party in her memory on Saturday, November 7th, 2026 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Faulkner Lake Orchard, 503 Morris Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Good food, great memories and the live country music Beth loved! Donations may be made to her husband Buck Wisinger at 6920 Country Club Heights, Benton, Ar. 72015.

I first met Beth when I trained her to be a foster parent. I remember her being so young and having an immaculate house. I thought to myself, this girl has no idea what she’s about to get into. But I knew she had the heart and desire to help others. We had always kept in touch and I did many adoption summaries throughout the years in her home. She advocated fiercely and never wavered from helping others. Praying for the family in their days to come.

So heart broken for her family. I met her at our school book fair and for those few hours I spent with her working and helping kids get books we visited about everything! A soul to soul conversation was had & I committed to praying for her. I trust God is using her story to impact others and this sorrowful heartache will be used for the good of His kingdom. I pray for Gods presence to be felt covering each of you and that He gives you a peace and hope that surpasses our earthly understanding. God bless you all!
