Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One
In Loving Memory of Trenda L. Cottrell

Trenda L. Cottrell, age 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 22. She was born on October 9, 1940, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Lee Roy and Coye May Hulsey Rucker.

Trenda dedicated 57 years of her life to nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), a career she truly loved. She found particular joy and purpose in caring for those in long-term care, where her compassion, dedication, and genuine concern for others touched the lives of many patients and their families. Her commitment to nursing was recognized in 2016 when she was honored as Nurse of the Year, a meaningful testament to the care and dedication she brought to her profession throughout the years.

Above all, Trenda was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She treasured her family and the special relationships she shared with those closest to her. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Cottrell D’Amato; her grandson, Garrett D’Amato (Samantha Gill); her sisters, Glenda Sorrels, Jeanie Chamberlain, Nancy Mason, and Janice (Warren) Hill; and her nieces and nephews, Kimm, Eric, Jeanie, Karen, Adam, and Nicolas.

Trenda was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Roy and Coye May Hulsey Rucker, and her three brothers, Raymond Rucker, Jerry Rucker, and Kenn Rucker.

Throughout her life, Trenda gave so much of herself to others—both through her calling as a nurse and through the love she gave to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of caring, compassion, and devotion that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

May she rest in peace.

Trenda was one of a kind. What a great nurse! I learned a lot from her. She loved her family more than anything. She seemed tough but really had a huge heart. So many good memories working with her.
