Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Charles Scott “Scotty” Baker passed away on October 2, 2026.

Scotty was born in Jacksonville, Arkansas, and raised in Beebe, Arkansas, the place he would always call home. He spent many years working for Beebe Public Schools. Growing up, Scotty was your all-American boy—he played football, loved fishing and hunting, especially coon hunting, and wasn’t afraid of a little trouble now and then.

More than anything, Scotty was a father and a musician. He loved his children, Christopher and Candi, deeply. Music came naturally to him. He could pick up just about any instrument and play it, with an understanding of music that simply couldn’t be taught.

Scotty was humble, dependable, and never made anyone feel less than. He had a way with words and could make others feel supported, even during times when he struggled to support himself. When Scotty loved you, he loved you with everything he had.

Scotty is survived by his wife, Kristin Baker; mother, Vonda Baker; children, Christopher Baker (Chloe) and Candi Treece (Dakota); grandchildren, Talynn, Jayce, Benjamin, and HadleeAnn; sister, Renee Carpenter; nephew, Nate Carpenter and his children; niece, Vanity Johnson (Danyell) and their daughter; and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, W.C. Baker, and Lavon “Granny” Noe, and his mother-in-law Sue Green.

Scotty battled addiction, but addiction was never all that he was. His family hopes his story reminds others to reach out, ask for help, and keep loving people through the hard parts. If you or someone you love is struggling with addiction, support is available through Hope Movement Coalition or by calling SAMHSA’s National Helpline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357).

There was so much more to Scotty than the way his story ended. That is how we will remember him.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at 11:00am in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville.

Scotty was a pure hearted soul . A person that I looked at like a brother, and family . He had the most amazing personality. My heart goes out to his wife Kristin and son Chris , all of his family, and the many friends that loved him . I will cherish the memories him , my sons dad Billy , and my family had with Scotty . I thank God that he was in our lives . You will forever be missed by me and so many , but I know you’ll be watching over us all .
