Alan Lee Shafer, 65, of Jerusalem, Arkansas passed away on Friday, May 27th, 2016. He was born on October 4, 1950 in Tulare, California to George W. Shafer Sr. and Edith Oddesa Shafer. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Alan leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife, Oweata D. Shafer; daughter, Tammy Clark and two grandchildren of California; five step-children, Edith Dalton of Oklahoma, Evelyn Conaway of Arkansas, Donald Drawbaugti of Oklahoma, Effie Goodson of Oklahoma, Randy Drawbaugh of Arkansas; twenty-one grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Freida Tassey of California, Norma Jo Pittman and husband, Gene of California, Mary Ritchie of Arkansas; four brothers, George (Jr.) Shafer of California, Charles Shafer and wife, Donna of Arkansas, Jerry Shafer and wife, Faye of Arkansas and Dennis Shafer and wife, Gloria of Arkansas.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016 at Jerusalem Free Will Baptist Church from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will follow at noon on Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Arkansas State Veteran’s Cemetery in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
