Don Siler Capps January 21, 1934 – October 28, 2016

The glorious time has come for his reward for a life of service and a job well done. Surrounded by the love of his family, Don Siler Capps, 82 of Little Rock, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 28, 2016.

A celebration of his life service will be held on November 1, 2016 at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, 10900 Rodney Parham Road, Little Rock, Arkansas at 12:00 p.m. with graveside service immediately following at Rose Lawn Cemetery. Don was born January 21, 1934 in Step Rock, Arkansas to Joe and Alice Capps. After graduating high school at age 16, he moved to Little Rock and began working at Worthen Bank where he met the love of his life and wife of 65 years, the former Nancy Scarbrough. For several years, they owned and operated a popular drive in Little Rock called The Pig Stand where people lined up every day for his dairy bar cuisine and hand- made malts. In 1975 he opened Camper Capps, a recreational vehicle business that he and his son Phillip operated for over 40 years before he retired in 2007.

First and foremost, Don loved the Lord and was an active member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, Communion leader and volunteered in many other outreach programs. His life revolved around his family and grandchildren with love, guidance and support. As an avid Arkansas Razorback fan, he was a season ticket holder for many years and he and his daughter rarely missed a game together. He also spent many weekends camping on the Buffalo River with his family or traveling in an RV.

His smile, warmth, generosity and enduring love will be greatly missed. Don is survived by his wife, Nancy of 65 years, son Phillip Capps and his wife Debbie of Maumelle, AR., daughter, Lee Ann Larkan and her husband David of Maumelle, AR., three grandsons, Colton Capps, Michael Capps and Grey Larkan, brother Edwin Capps and his wife Margaret of Springdale, AR. Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Sue Yarbrough, sister Bonnie Glasco, and brother Jim Capps. Online condolences can be made at www.anaturalstatefuneralservice.com. Memorial donations can be made to Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, 10900 Rodney Parham Rd, Little Rock, AR. 72212.

Nancy, We are saddened to hear of Don’s passing. Although we were not around Don a lot, we know that he was a Christian man and devoted his life loving you and your family. I especially remember how kind he was to Aunt Iva, opening up your home for her final time on earth.
We love you. Raymond and Diane
