William Michael Watson, 64 of Lonoke passed away on Sunday, March 26,2017. He was born June 26, 1952. Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Friend. Survived by his Wife of 43 1/2 years, Julie Strobel Watson, sons Michael Watson, Matt Watson and brother Rick Watson.
Mike retired from Remington after 45 years of loyal employment. He was a devoted Razorback Fan, supporter of the local Lonoke Jackrabbits and most recently, found lots of enjoyment participating in the Lonoke Community Centers “Bean Bag Baseball” team where he played with the Silver Hares.
Everyone that came in contact with Mike, instantly liked him because of his down to earth, laid back personality and honest way of talking to you and treating you. Also known as a “Big ol’ Teddy Bear”, you just could not help but love him! Mike had a heart so big, that he was always ready to help anyone that was in need. He instilled this same love and devotion into his 2 sons and raised them with Julie to become the same loving and hardworking men they are today. We all have stories and memories of how he touched our lives and as we think about these at this time, it is comforting and reassuring to know that Mikes heart was pure and dedicated to the Lord and is in Heaven now, no longer having to deal with the complications of what life on this earth can bring. He is wrapped in the arms of Jesus and surrounded by his parents and loved ones that have already passed before. Take comfort in knowing that we will be reunited with him one day and for now he is keeping watch over us.
In lieu of flowers, his family will be setting up a memorial in his honor at the Lonoke County Senior Center. Please mail your Memorial Donation to PO BOX 199, Lonoke, AR 72086 or you can go to www.lonokecountyseniors.com. It was Mike’s wishes not to have a service or funeral, but to be cremated. His entire family, especially Julie Strobel Watson, would like to say how much they appreciate everyone’s prayers, well wishes and food that has been outpouring these past few months. Thank you all and God Bless.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076. 501-982-3400

Mr. Mike from the first time we met it felt as though I had known you forever because your kind soul and words made me feel like I could tell you anything. You always lit up any room when you walked in and I’m glad I was one of the lucky ones to have known you even though it’s only been a few years you have made it feel like it’s been a lifetime that I have known you. I will miss talking sports with you and Saturday night trivia at American Pie. Thank You for touching me in a way that makes me want to be a better and kinder soul as you were. R.I.P until we meet again in that big party in the sky
