Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Ricardo Burns, 68

Ricardo Burns was born August 1, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, to Oscar Burns and Lula Turner.  He died November 18, 2018, in Searcy.  His childhood and early adult life were spent in Chicago, but his middle and later years were in New Orleans and Searcy.  He moved to Searcy in 2005 as a result of the destruction of Hurricane Katrina.

Survivors include his daughter, Tishandra; his wife Brenda; and a brother, Reggie all of Chicago.

He was a member of College church of Christ in Searcy.  As health permitted, he regularly attended Monday Night Caring and Sharing meetings and Sunday morning “Searchers” Bible class.

Ricardo looked for ways to help the disadvantaged.  He brought several people to Caring and Sharing meetings and to church services.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 8, at 11 a.m. in Room 100 at College church of Christ in Searcy.

Arrangements have been entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville, Arkansas. 501-982-3400  www.anaturalstatefuneralservice.com

I met Ricardo after he relocated to Searcy in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. We were casual friends but had many short and always interesting visits at the Searcy library or when I would see him sitting on the porch at the Mayfair on my way through downtown. I’ didn’t know him well but I’m glad I met him and will miss seeing him.
    Peace to his family… +
