Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Joan E. Head, 85

Joan E. Head, age 85, of Little Rock, Arkansas departed this life on April 1, 2019 in the arms of her loving family.

She was born Joan E. Minton in Fort Smith, Arkansas on July 24, 1933 to the late William Otis Minten and Elizabeth Ann (Montgovern) Minten. She met and married her high school sweetheart, Emmitt E. Head. After relocating to Little Rock she became an active member of the Little Rock Seventh-Day Adventist Church and raised five amazing sons. Joan arranged flowers for Sabbath services and cooked for the church school until she was no longer able to do so. New members were often invited to her home for a Sabbath meal and wonderful conversation,  she formed many special friendships this way, including dear friends, Max and Dana Horner. “Meme” so loved serving the Lord and always looked forward to decorating the church for holidays. “Meme” had a real talent working with plants and flowers, and opened a flower shop with her best friend, Winona Finley. Joan had the most aromatic and beautiful deck from spring to fall with her passion for roses, iris’s, pansies, hydrangea’s, ferns and more. It was obvious everywhere you looked God had blessed her with a gift.  She was also an amazing artist painting on canvas, emu eggs and Christmas balls. Rest in Peace our sweet “Meme”, until we meet again.
