Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Dorothy Ward Rodgers, 90

Dorothy Ward Rodgers, 90, of Fairfield Bay, walked through the gates of heaven and met her Savior and embraced our Dad, Vernon Rodgers, and her family on Thursday, May 23, 2019, just 5 days after what would have been 73rd wedding anniversary. She grieved the loss of her husband, our Dad, for the past 2 years and talked continuously about being reunited with him in heaven.

Dorothy was born June 25, 1928 to Tollie William Ward and Martha Ruth White in Benton, Arkansas. Her first love was for her Savior, Jesus Christ. Her second love was for her family: parents, husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends. Dorothy was loving, compassionate and caring while dedicated to serving others. She was always the first to volunteer to help others. Her love for her animals was unconditional.

Dorothy has now been reunited in her Heavenly home with her sisters Jean Ward and Carolyn Quittner; brother Claud Ward; and nephew Kelly Stewart. She leaves a large loving family to honor her memory: children Tracy Lynn Rodgers Caldwell (Wallace) and Lisa Anne Rodgers Barnes (Tony); grandson Teddy Barnes (Justina) and Tyler Barnes (Rylee); great-grandchild Hayden Barnes and Jasper Barnes; nephew Alan Stewart (Beth), Mike Ward, and David Ward (Sandy); great-nephew Matt Stewart (Kaitlyn); and other extended family.

Memorials in her honor can be made to Fairfield Bay Baptist Church, 481 Dave Creek Parkway, Fairfield Bay, Arkansas 72088 and to Youth Home, Inc., 20400 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72210. Her family has arranged a private memorial service to be set at a later date.

Arrangements entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Services, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72076. 501-982-3400
