Melissa (Misse) Kaplon, 42

Melissa (Missie) Kaplon, 42, of North Little Rock, passed away May 2, 2019. She was born on December 30, 1976 in Friendswood, Texas to Floyd Hobbs and the late Chris Whitten.

Misse was a Registered Nurse on the Cardiac Floor at UAMS. She received her Master’s Degree in Nursing Education, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Walden University. She received her Bachelors and Associates Degree in Nursing Science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Prior to Nursing, Misse obtained her massage therapy license and opened her own business in Sherwood called The Angels Touch.

Misse truly had a nurse’s heart. She lived her life in service to others, with compassion and genuine concern. She loved her family, including her fur babies. She loved to travel and see exciting things, and her happy place was the beach.

She is preceded in death by her mother- Chris Fisher, Grandmother- Margaret “Honey” Whitten, and her Grandfather- Dr. James “Granddad” Whitten.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her wife- Summer “Fruit Loop” Logan; daughter- Lexy Kaplon; father- Floyd (Kim) Hobbs; brothers- Grant and Clayton Hobbs; plus many more family, friends, and former patients.

A Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, May 7, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72076. 501-982-3400
