Ronald E. Putnam, 79

Ronald E. Putnam, 79, of Jacksonville passed away on Friday, June 14, 2019.  He was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on September 19, 1939 to the late Carle and Lucile Putnam.

He served proudly in the United States Navy where he attended the U.S. Naval School of Music and he participated as a member of the United States Navy Band.  He was active in the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville.  He was a member of the Cabot American Legion Post 71, a HAM radio operator and enjoyed doing embroidery and art work in his spare time. 

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Rev. Ramon and Richard Putnam.

He leaves behind his beloved dog Lady Girl; his sisters-in-law Elenora Putnam and Judith Putnam; nephews Andrew Putnam (Regina), Timothy Putnam (Suzanne) and Randy Brewer; great-niece Abigail and many other friends and family.

Visitation services will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 from 9:30 until 10:30 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, 308 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas.  Funeral services will begin at 10:30 A.M. with burial to follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers please donate to First United Methodist Church, Jacksonville; Cabot and Jacksonville Humane Society or Wounded Warriors Project.
