I visited Valentine many times while he was a resident at Premier Health Care. He was always polite and interesting to talk to. I have missed him since he moved to VA Homes and will always remember him. My condolences to his remaining family.

This man meant so much to me. I loved him. Not like a Granddad, but like my child! Caring for him was by far THE MOST rewarding ‘work’ I’d ever had the privilege of doing. He drove me batty sometimes (& sometimes I drove him batty right back 😂). He knew how much I loved him & I know how much he loved me. We were a good team. I already miss that cantankerous, generous, big hearted fellow w that tough Brooklyn attitude but a smile that would melt you… Mr. Val ~ I’ll never forget you, and even more importantly, will always remember you and all of the things you taught me. I’m so grateful for our time together and feel honored to have been able to call you my friend, Sir.
God sure knew what he was doing when he moved you next door to me. He knew we’d soon become family.
Seeing you sent off today with such a beautiful tribute to your life and your service to our country made me so proud. You were and will always be an American Hero and we all thank you.

    Uncle Val,
If one is allowed to have a “favorite” uncle, you were mine. We didn’t see you much, but it was always a treat when we did. You were a major influence on me, beginning with the National Geographic Magazine subscription you gifted me with – to the Chemistry set you gave me for Christmas – that my mother HATED…. (LOL). I learned SO much as a result of your thoughtfulness. You were one of the few heroes I looked up to in my life. God bless and keep you.
