Ellsworth Gustave Holobar, 88

Ellsworth Gustave Holobar, 88, of Jacksonville passed away on August 29, 2019.  He was born in Cochranton, Pennsylvania to the late Gustave and Emma Holobar on November 14, 1930.

He proudly served in the United States Army and served in the Korean War.  In the late 50’s/early 60’s he worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad and while working as the Fireman he survived a train wreck in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He retired from Kellwood and Falcon Jet.  He enjoyed working and was a known work-a-holic.  He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, golfing, watching sports on TV especially football.  He also enjoyed to the horse races and spending time with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his son Preston Ray Canterberry; one half-brother and one halfsister.

Ellsworth leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years Carolyn Holobar; son Marty V. Canterberry; two grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; one sister and many friends and family.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 10:30 until 11:30 at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas with graveside burial at 12:00 P.M. at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 Maryland, North Little Rock, Arkansas.
