Harold Lee Brooks, 79, of Jacksonville passed away on January 31, 2020. He was born on March 23, 1940 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Virgil Lee Brooks and Marsell (Leggitt) Brooks.
He was a loving and amazing husband, father, brother and friend. Harold was a member of Marshall Road Baptist Church and he graduated from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas with a Bachelors in Accounting. He was the owner of Brooks’ Shooting Supply in Jacksonville from 1975 until 1985; he was an avid reloader, fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Jackie Donald Brooks.
Harold leaves behind his wife of almost 59 years Beckie Odom Brooks; his sons Kerry Brooks (Laura) of Little Rock, Arkansas and Kenneth Brooks (Kyong) of Navarre, Florida; six granddaughters Jessica Wessel, Jennifer Mashburn (Bryan), Jordan McReynolds (Charlie), Jill Brooks, Michelle Brooks and Angela Brooks; his great-grandchildren Blake Mashburn, Keelan McReynolds, Levi Mashburn and Lesleigh Jane Mashburn; his brother Ron Brooks (Bonnie) of Cabot, Arkansas; his niece Ashley Brooks Dalton; as well as many other friends and relatives.
Memorials can be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or charity of your choice.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. with funeral service to begin at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church, 401 North 1st Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Cabot, Arkansas.
