Joseph Thomas (Tommy/Tom) Simpson, 71, of North Little Rock received the “greatest promotion of all” as he went to be with his Lord. He passed away peacefully on February 7, 2020 surrounded by his children and loved ones. He was born on May 31, 1948 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Robert A. Simpson and Mary Jo (Cotton) Simpson-Sisco.
Tom’s toughness and bravery are unmatched only by the love for his family and friends. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps in the Vietnam War where he received 3 Purple Hearts and was highly decorated. He was with the North Little Rock Fire Department for 10 years and with the United States Postal Service for 34 years. He was an avid deer hunter, loved to fish, coached youth baseball for 10 years and was a 32° Mason.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Carolyn Ann Sharp.
Tom is survived by his loving children Brad Simpson and Mandi Simpson; his grandson Blakely Simpson; his siblings Beverly Allred (Elden) and Lynn Simpson (Jacque); a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.

Memorial will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 12:00 P.M. at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 West Maryland, North Little Rock, Arkansas.

I was so sorry to hear of Tommy’s passing. I was in high school with him and he was a great guy.
Tommy was a wonderful man. He will be missed. I was able . I am so glad I was able to reconnect thru FB.

Many of us remember him at NLR Fire Department. He had the best smile, kind and generous. RIP
I’m saddened to lose my friend but I know he was suffering and he is in a better place.
