Hubert H. Johnson, 90

Hubert H. Johnson passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020 at the age of 90. He was born on Nov. 10, 1929 to Jess and Minnie (Vaughn) Johnson in Lonoke County. Hubert retired from the Missouri Pacific Railroad after 40 years of service. He raised cattle and was a dairy farmer as well. Hubert loved his church Baugh Chapel Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. He also loved to hunt quail and was famous for training bird dogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother’s Jesse “Bud” Johnson, Tom Johnson, Eugene Johnson; sisters Mamie Johnson Nolan, and Mary Lou Johnson Boyd.

He married the love his life, Billie Dean Heffner Johnson on Dec. 23, 1949. To this union three daughters were born, Belinda Hubbard (Larry), Sharon Johnson, and Patti Ferguson (Derrill), all of whom survive. Also surviving is his lone granddaughter, Dana Guthrie (Bruce), and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 10-11 am at Baugh Chapel Church in Austin, Arkansas, with funeral service to begin at 11 am. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot, Arkansas.

    I have good memories of spending the night with Patti , I think we tried to talk him in to letting us ride on a train one time … love and prayers to you all …

    My thoughts and prayers are with you all. My mom ( Carolyn Sue Johnson Kirkland) was Hubert’s cousin. I never heard anything but good of him. May you all feel Gods wondrous love at this time and in the days to come.
