Portia “Nanny” Annette Murray, born April 11, 1948, left this world with a heart full of so much love. She was surrounded by her family on Friday, March 13, 2020, as everyone said their goodbyes.
Nanny was preceded in death by her youngest son, Shawn Murray, her older sister, Karon Richardson, three brothers, Lyndell, Dee and Ronald Wilson, and both of her parents, Fred and Hazel Wilson.
Even though she went with grace to be with the ones we’ve all so dearly missed, she leaves behind many more loved ones; husband of over 40 years Douglas Howard Murray; sons, Billy and Morgan Curtis; youngest sister, Diane Rood; nephew, Shay Hicks; niece Cindy Lipscomb; grandsons, Chase Curtis, Eric Murray, Cole Murray, and three beautiful great granddaughters; and so many more family members, friends and bonus families.
Anyone that knew Portia, knew she was a beautiful ball of fire. She could light up a room just by walking in, and that light that she brought with her will never burn out. She may not be with us physically, but her presence will forever be remembered by those that loved her.
We mourn the loss of our beloved Nanny, but rejoice in the Lord, now… for she is finally Home and she is happy.
Memorial service has been postponed to a later date due in light of the current health situation.

Portia will be missed dearly…she was so beautiful and friendly..
It was easy to make friends with Portia when we became co-workers almost five years ago. I enjoyed her wit and her smile will be missed. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to know her.
