Edward Neal Geater, 87, of Stuttgart passed away on May 16, 2020. He was born in Monroe County, Arkansas on March 31, 1933 to the late Neeley A. and Katie Mae (Coffey) Geater.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He retired from Riceland Food after a long career as an Office Manager, he is a proud veteran of the United States Army, he accepted the Lord as his Savior and was a member of the 1st Christian Church, a member of Jaycee’s and a member of the American Legion.
He is preceded in death by two daughters, Gail Jones and Danita Gillespie; five brothers J.D. Geater, Jimmy Geater, Don Geater, Jerry Geater and Kenneth Geater and one sister Linda Geater.
Edward leaves behind his loving wife, Mary Ann (Owens) Geater of Stuttgart; two sons David N. Geater (Shirley) of Cabot, Edward L. Geater (Karen) of Benton; two brothers Keith Geater of Stuttgart and Bill Geater of Oxley; step-son Ronnie Jones (Kim) of DeValls Bluff; step-daughter Sharon Hunt (Travis) of Carlisle; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; many friends and extended family.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for all the calls, cards, flowers and prayers for our family, and also we would like to say Thank you to Dr. Gentry and her team at CARTI.
Visitation will be at 1:00 PM at Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at 1st Christian Church, 10th and Main, Stuttgart, Arkansas with funeral service to begin at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Donald Warren. Burial will be at Hazen Cemetery, Hazen, Arkansas following the service.
