Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Amanda Estes Launius, age 60

Amanda Estes Launius took her last steps on earth after a long sickness from liver disease.  She relocated to Heaven Sunday morning, August 30, 2020.   Her husband, Billy Launius, will be lost without her by his side.

Amanda was kind-hearted, good-natured and taught us all valuable life lessons. She was a master cook in the kitchen; she loved good parties and was compassionate and a life-long care giver.

Amanda Estes was born on November 2, 1959. The youngest of seven children, only two sisters remain: Cheryl Estes (Cherry) Batson and Donna Estes James. Amanda also leaves behind nieces and nephews who adored her; countless rescued cats, dogs, and other critters; and her world-famous King Ranch Chicken and Macaroni & Cheese recipes.

Despite the hard times, she lived life joyfully. She loved her family and friends thoroughly. She leaves a lifetime of love, laughs, and memories.

A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date.

Arrangements entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas. 501-982-3400

So very sorry for your loss, Cherry. And other family members.

Sweet Aunt Amanda “Knees, NeeNee, Kneesers” had a big heart, a cackling laugh, an unquenchable thirst, and a whimsical spirit. She was always willing to hang out, let you turn your favorite song up loud, and see the best in you (unless she was mad at you and then you could expect to hear some choice words, but she never stayed mad too long). At many an Estes Fest, she would be the one that would pay attention to all of us kids, maybe because she was the youngest of her siblings, and I will always cherish the time she spent with me. She loved her family, all animals, and ice cold beers (she always had one in the freezer, and one in the koozie). Long will live her spirt… beautiful, caring, complicated, loving.

Amanda was the most special friend to me. I miss her “large personality” already. My heartfelt condolences to Billy and the family. A family I’m honored to know. I met Amanda through David. I’m blessed to have had them both in my life.

Amanda (my “Aunt Knees”) was a joyful, beautiful, and truly thoughtful soul… now she is more beautiful than ever, finally pain-free, and more peaceful, too! Thankful for the memories…

I knew Amanda better than anyone. She could be onery sometimes, but her heart
    was always full of love.
I admired her and was sometimes amazed.
I am kind of lost without her by my side.
She was half of the flesh and blood that made me whole. Miss you and always love you.
