Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Wanda “SUE” (Voegele) Williford, age 73

Wanda “SUE” (Voegele) Williford, 73, of Sherwood, was called to her heavenly home 10/25/20 with close friends and extended family by her side following a very courageous battle with cancer.

She is a member of Sylvan Hills Community Church.  Sue graduated from NLR High School in 1965 and worked for the Department of Education with the State of Arkansas.  Sue’s love of people called her to be a caregiver for many family & friends for the past 20 years.

She was preceded in death by mother & step-dad, Margaret & Ben Newby; sister Gloria Howard; and grandson Matthew Guffey.

Sue leaves behind the following survivors to cherish her memory:

Husband John Williford, daughter Tina McCoy, son Ricky (Latricia) Maynard, sisters Lois (Charles) Cavin, Peggy Flash, & Rose (Bill) Mosley. She has 2 granddaughters (Kaitlyn & Ashlyn) and 1 great-granddaughter (Camryn) that were all very special to her.

She leaves behind three generations of loving nieces and nephews that will greatly miss her unconditional love & support; Laura & extended family, Daniel & family, Chuck & family and Stuart & family.

Also left to cherish her memory are many, many friends like life-long friends Linda, Paula, & Hesley Williford and long-time friend Ronnie Pepper.

Sue impacted many lives.  She was accepting of all people as individuals with no prejudice.  She always welcomed people with a hug & a smile.  She left everyone with beautiful memories and much laughter.

A celebration memorial is pending

The family would like to thank UAMS Cancer Institute & Arkansas Hospice for the care they provided during Sue’s battle with cancer.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sylvan Hills Community Church.

Aunt Sue gave so much love to everyone she encountered. She rarely ever missed an important event in her loved ones lives. I cherish the moments I have spent with her growing up, she always made sure her grandkids, nieces & nephews had a wonderful time when she was around! I will forever love & miss my sweet Aunt Sue.

I love you so much Aunt Sue.. You are so much more to me than Aunt, you were not only my Aunt but a Mom to me, you were my friend, my confidant . I can’t believe how many times in a day I reach to call you.. How many times have I’ve wanted to run to my security blanket, you were my ride or die and you died. I’m shook, I feel broken.. Nobody can fix this.. People say “she’s in a better place”. As selfish as it sounds, I don’t care.. I want you here with me. The only saving grace to it all.. your not hurting anymore. I miss you beyond words.. I love you more than that. Thank you for loving me and always being my person.. I miss you.
