Billy Joe Collins, age 67

Billy Joe Collins, 67, of Pleasant Plains passed away on October 23, 2020.

Billy was born in Stuart, Florida to Jewell and Edna Collins on October 3, 1953.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jewell Collins, mother Edna Collins, brothers Larry and David Collins and sister Carol Haines.

He is survived by his son Mark and Matthew Philpot, Jerime Collins and daughter, Michele Cartagena. He has eight grandchildren (Jacob, Ryan, Lucas, Elianna, Ashton, Owen, Abigail and Jace), two great-grandchildren (Pepper and Paxton) and three sisters, Kathy Wofford, Janice Barnhouse and Mary Collins.

Billy served our country as a soldier in the U.S.Army and while he was well traveled his love of America never waivered.

He was smart, kind and inventive. He loved board games, music and singing along to his favorite songs. He was funny, friendly and lived his life as a free spirit.

In recognition of that free spirit an Ash Scattering Memorial is to be held to honor the life he lived. Date pending at this time.

    Uncle Billy Joe, you will be missed until we see you again in Heaven. I got my love for playing dominos from you & my dad, I carry it on with my children & grandchildren. I’m so grateful to have the memories I get to keep of our numerous talks & fishing & cooking & playing dominos. I also got my love for picture taking & music & creativity from you. You inspired me in many ways that I’ll to pass on. Thank you for always being there for me & my children, we love you more than words can ever express.
